Enterprise

A 3D model of the Starship Enterprise.
I had a lot of difficulty with this model, I ended up using many different shapes and parenting them together to create the model. 
I also had difficulty with the UV mapping as I did not understand it fully to begin with. I may retry the model at a later point because I know I can do far better.





Tree

A quick tree model I made using the splines to draw a line and extrude along the line for the roots and the branches.




Silhouette's

This is my first attempt at drawing with using a silhouette as a base to work from. I found this extremely difficult but very useful for creating original works.

I plan to revisit these drawings at a later point and polish them off.


3D Low Poly Church

A very simple model with a low poly count, relying on the texture to give the model detail.

I did not find this difficult to do...when I actually followed the instructions. I have two problems with it, first being the steeple spike as I did not notice that I had crossed the edges at the top and with the texture at the base of the door since I could not make it appear textured because there was no polygon facing upwards.





Ogre

This painting I was focusing on the light and dark values. To do this I started with a  grey silhouette and slowly added more layers with a deepening dark and light values by painting darker and lighter shades of grey.

3D Asteroid

Starting with a simple sphere I added a asteroid looking material and then using the noise modifyer I was able to give the asteroid some texture.
Then using the animation tool and graphs I was able to make a smooth movement as if the asteroid is traveling in space.
To make the camera follow the asteroid I used the parent tool to attatch the camera to the asteroid.

3D Marker Pen

A quick attempt at a 3D model of a marker pen that was on my desk. 
Created the material around the pen on Photoshop and used the Multi/Sub Object option to select certain polygons and place the material.

3D Pawn

A quick 3D Pawn made by drawing around half a picture of a pawn and then using bezier corners to make the curves match with the real thing.


Spider-man

After watching the Spider-Man reboot I immediately came home and started work on my own Spider-man drawing.







3D Goblet

Using splines I drew half the shape of a cup and then with the lathe modifier I was able to create a simple goblet.

Zippy The Ninja

A short animation I made using Adobe Flash Professional. 


Using Photoshop I made vector shapes to build the background and characters. I then imported them to Flash and simply used motion tweens to bring them to life.

Tyreal

A while ago I picked up Diablo 3. Being a fan of the series I just had to try my hand at drawing the Archangel of Justice.


This video shows me mostly sketching the drawing and then the steps I took in Photoshop.



Snowman animation

An activity given to my class to introduce simple animation on 3DS Max


Alice

Alice the Madness inspired drawing.

I generally start my drawings on paper and scan them into photoshop. The sketch started as a copy of alice but evolved into my own design.

From the sketch I scan into Photoshop and start getting an idea of colours and shading.


Using a mix of overlapping layers, photo filters and the curve tool I am able to build on the picture until the final.
