Life Drawing 2

A couple of sketches from the previous few life drawing sessions.
Most are charcoal sketches which I am slowly getting used to doing but I really enjoyed the ink drawings of the skeletons.

UVW Unwrap

This was a class exercise to add a material to a 3D object by using the UVW Unwrap modifyer.

Using Photoshop I was able to simply place the different can materials over the correct spots so that the UVW Unwrap would map those materials to the correct locations.

Using the same method I was able to map a simple checkered pattern to a tshirt model so that it appeared to wrap around the tshirt as it would in real life.

Southpark Animation

Using the graph editor and track view- dope I was able to create a visibility track on my objects so that I could control when they would be visible and when they would not.
This is perfect for simple animations like in Southpark in making facial expressions.

What a bunch of balls

Bouncing balls for all your bouncing ball needs.
I used the stretch modifier to create the illusion of the ball squishing on contact with the ground and the graph  editor curves to make the animation smooth and more realistic.

Personal Work 3

This drawing happened mostly by accident. I was having a frustrating night trying to draw and as it got very late I started with just drawing an eye, then a nose and a mouth. Before I knew it I had the basic shape of a face and went with it from there.

I spent a lot of time altering this drawing and decided I was starting to spend too much time so I just touched it up as it was and decided to call it finished.

After this stage I felt I went too far and should have left it as it was.

3D Grenade Launcher

A Grenade Launcher moddled for my Unity scene. I am very pleased with how this turned out but I should lower the poly count and use the UVW Unwrap modifer to add more detail.

Bald monster thing

Following on from the Ogre drawing I focused on using values over the lineart to create shapes depending on how the light hit the monster.

I do not like this drawing because I feel it lacks a lot of definition and detail. I seem to get to a point in the drawing where I do not know how to continue, I will continue to do these type of drawings to learn how to improve.

Pumpkin Man

This was my first attempt at animating a 2D object using bones to make the object move.
I had some difficulty with the mesh and enveloping, because my mesh was not very well done I could not map my enevelops properly that is why there is some stretching and tearing.

Personal work 2

A quick sketch using nothing but pen.
Before coming to university I did many of these and really enjoyed the sketchy messyness.

Perspective 3

A slightly more complex attempt at drawing in perspective.
I am pleased with how this turned out however I feel that If I had spent more time I would have been able to produce something far more detailed.

Personal work 1

This is a personal piece of work. The character is from the anime known as Hellsing, the entire point of the drawing was to include the gun that was in perspective 2 but I did not plan ahead and ran out of room for the iton the page.

I may revisit this piece at a later date and try to finish it in a different style...gun included.

Perspective 2

My second attempt at drawing in perspective.
This time I actually used a vanishing point to join all of my lines together and by drawing the gun at each side I was able to figure out how to build the gun in perspective.

Perspective 1

My first attempt at drawing in perspective.

I had no idea what I was doing...its not finished
